Master the Machine: Orchestrating GitHub Copilot Agents, MCP, and Hooks

We’ve all been there: you ask Copilot for a refactor, and it ignores your architecture, ignores your naming conventions, or suggests a banned library. It’s like managing a fast intern who won’t listen. What if your team’s “brain” was built into the tool? In this deep dive, we go beyond basic chat and explore GitHub Copilot’s advanced orchestration layer. You’ll learn how to turn Copilot into a specialized team member that understands your codebase. We will also into discuss how to: - Use custom instructions as a permanent source of truth for your architecture, -- Build custom agents for roles such as a security auditor, - Trigger domain knowledge with skills and prompts, - Extend AI knowledge with Model Context Protocol (MCP), - Automate workflows with pre- and post-tool hooks to enforce guardrails, running builds, tests, and linters as the agent works. - Don’t miss this session to utilize all that Copilot has to offer!
