Introduction to Software Defined Radio (SDR)

In recent years, cheap hardware devices and prolific software packages have allowed hobbyists and tinkerers to learn and play with radio using a laptop and USB stick. This session will introduce participants to some of the devices and software available for exploring the radio signals around them. It will also explore some alternative approaches to introduce participants to common radio signals and give them ways to start exploring without buying hardware.
