Knowledge Transfer Better, Rewrite Less

Thursday, Aug 15 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Room 101

Description

If you're ever responsible for delivering project-based work, or if you just are dealing with the typical attrition rate of IT talent, you inevitably come to a point where projects need to be transitioned from one individual or teams to another. All too often the outcome of that transition is the new team doesn't understand decisions made by the previous one and ends up rewriting part or all of an application in a way that makes more sense to how they have learned to build applications.

This talk focuses on strategies to help minimize that software churn and allow KTs to be more effective in preparing new teams to own applications.
