A self-described nerdy area dad, Allen is an open source veteran and tech leader who has spent the past 25 years working at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and social good. A former motion picture professional who pivoted into tech full-time, Allen led digital transformation efforts for government and social service agencies and went on to help build developer communities around popular platforms like GitHub and WordPress. He currently lives in Charlotte, NC where he leads US Developer Relations for Umbraco, a free open-source content management system built on the .NET Core framework. In his free time, he enjoys making music, being outdoors, and tinkering.
